Recent Branding Boards

Here are some recent branding boards I've designed.

I haven't blogged about many of these because I've been so busy working on new projects. Every time I think about blogging, another deadline gets priority. Needless to say, all of these clients are very special to me and deserve their own post(s)...hopefully some day soon I will have time to share the stories, tears and sweat that went into each project. BUT, these days I'm lucky to post one work-related project per month—so here goes....

More coming soon. I saved some favorites for the next round so stay tuned...

New Branding and Website: Caroline Ceramics

The new Caroline Ceramics website is live! This was a true labor of love, and we so worked hard to make sure this site was everything it needed it be, including a shop and a blog. I can't tell you how much I love this girl, and it thrills me to see her beautiful work come alive on the site. The site design and branding is so Caroline, and that's what matters most in the end.

We can't wait to celebrate this beautiful artist's wedding in the Highlands in September!

Check it out. Caroline is the complete package. Her work is so original and beautiful, just like her sweet little self!

New Branding: Friends of the Delta

I just finished the branding design for "Friends of the Delta," which is a group of folks who work together to promote a new National Park in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. See the website here. A new website is currently in the works! It was such a fun project to be a part of, and I can't wait to see what the "Friends of the Delta" do to help promote and restore our beautiful Mobile Delta.

Designer Spotlight: Lara Casey

One of the best things about social media is that you stumble upon people and businesses you never would have known existed. Well, thanks to Instagram, I found out about this amazing entrepreneur, Lara Casey. Good gosh, whenever I feel like I'm working hard or making some progress, I just need to look at her work and step-up my game.

I don't know how she does all of this (with a toddler!) but she is definitely inspiring. I love following mommy designers. It's so refreshing to see other women creating fabulous designs and pouring themselves into their businesses, yet embracing being a mommy and putting their babies first, at the same time. I won't lie, being a working mom is not easy—to say the least. It's the hardest thing I've ever done, and I'm blessed to work from home. It's a balancing act (I could write a novel on it... to be continued)...BUT, the passion and faith Lara has behind her work is truly rare. I could read her blog and view her website(s) for days—that's how involved she is.

I personally have been very inspired recently and am wanting to take my business (my website/my branding/etc) to the next level. It's just hard to find the time, when I'm so swamped updating other businesses' branding and websites. Believe me, I wouldn't have that any other way (my clients are what matter), but it's people like Lara, who make me want to carve out the time to be the best I can be (as cliche as that may sound)...and most importantly, to do it for a greater cause. Check out her site here and her blog here, to see what I'm talking about.

Whew, she's one talented, BUSY lady, that's for sure. So here's to being inspired and many more "Designer Spotlights" to come...

Pantone Fall Colors

Can you believe it's almost fall? I can't. This summer has flown by and I keep reminding myself to soak in every minute before these long summer nights are gone.

Speaking of FALL, the Fall 2012 Pantone Colors were just announced and I had to share these amazing colors. I know I'm a few days behind but I've been a preoccupied these days...

I love them all. Which ones are your favorite?

Company Brochures & Tutus!

Whew. I've been quite the worker-bee lately. I'm so excited to share this recent design project with you. Countless (and I mean COUNTLESS) hours went into this project, and I can't tell you how proud I am of the final result. We've been working on this since February and we just presented everything to the agents last week.

A little background here...the client is Roberts Brothers, which is the largest Real Estate company in South Alabama. When I first started doing work for them, we sat down and went over all of their needs. They needed everything: a company brochure, a listing presentation, a buyer presentation, a recruiting piece, agent's personalized presentations, and the list goes on. So instead of creating tons of random pieces that basically said the same thing, we decided to do ONE piece, and to do it WELL.

We spent months coming up with the content and thought long and hard about WHAT we wanted to say and HOW we wanted to say it. The piece has 5 layered inserts on the left: The Company, The Realtors, The Marketing, The Website, The Results. We felt like those 5 inserts represented everything from the history of Roberts Brothers to the recent, impressive web stats. Gwins Printing did an amazing job and they were such a joy to work with.

The two inserts on the right include a sheet for buyers and sellers.

We made sure to leave space for the agents—it was important that they could personalize it and make it their own. See Katie Crane's bio below that will fit perfectly as the top insert on the right side.

This hand-painted watercolor (by the very talented Artist/Realtor Lynne Weeks) was printed on the folder's inside flap and illustrates Roberts Brothers five locations beautifully...

We wanted to show and not just tell so we used many graphics and visuals throughout the inserts. Here's a quick glimpse of several of the inserts (to see all inserts, view the digital FlipBook)

This group photo was taken specifically for this marketing piece—and Thigpen photography did a wonderful job making our conceptual idea come to life.

And my favorite part of the brochure is this digital, interactive FlipBook. It's great for presentations or emails and all things web-related. It'll be featured on the RBI website soon, but for now, you can view it here.

And in case that wasn't enough...we designed a PowerPoint version of the brochure so that the agents can customize it themselves and use it during presentations. So watch out, the RBI Realtors are gettin pretty techy these days!
Sorry for such a long post, but this project deserved it's own posting. It's been my baby for the past few months, but NOTHING compares to my favorite baby. We played dress-up the other day and I couldn't stop laughing when we tried on her pink tutu (given to Calder by close family friend Patsi Walker)! She didn't know what to think about it.

Priss-pot or tomboy, who knows?

Happy 4th everyone!

Recent Design Work...

I recently finished a logo and tri-fold brochure design for AccuReg Software. We completely rebranded their company, and I loved meeting with their team and coming up with an entire new look that suited them perfectly.

Their website has not been updated yet to compliment their new branding, but for now you can compare the new with the old. Please click here to see the entire brochure. What a fun and challenging project, and I was honored to be a part of it!
