the perfect gray
I could (and do) pour over paint colors for hours. I'm thinking about painting our armoire (no walls for me this time!), and it's hard to decide on which color. I love the color gray, but there are so many shades and colors to choose from. See one of my many notebooks above. Such a dork I know, but I've been collecting paint color samples for years and always searching for that perfect shade or hue...
So, I found a wonderful post on one of my favorite blogs, a perfect gray, that was very helpful. I wanted to share her favorite grays with you...
Gray Owl is one of my very favorites!
Gotta get back to work, but l would love to hear from you. What are your favorite gray paint colors? Please do share.

Rediscovering a green thumb...
It's officially spring, and that means it's time to get outside and rediscover that long lost green thumb. I love working in the yard and getting my hands dirty. It's therapeutic for me in some weird way. My parents were in town from Chattanooga, so they were watching Calder while we worked outside. Lord knows I need some Vitamin D!
Every year we plant our herb garden — we love cooking with fresh herbs and it just makes everything taste so much better. See last year's post here. So, I decided to tackle it last weekend, and since we actually kept our parsley and rosemary alive from last year (I have no clue how that happened), I only had to replant basil, two kinds of mint (since I have a hard time keeping it alive), onion chives, and oregano.
All I know is I look like Casper the ghost. Someone give this girl some color!
I LOVE this time of year, and it's hard to stay inside and work all day long, especially when there's a blue sky staring back at you. BUT, I've been so busy lately, that's exactly what we do. We love strolling outside, but other than that, you can find us here.
Here's my little design buddy. Wouldn't she melt your heart too??
And finally, here's a sneak peek of Calder's baby announcement. I sent them out yesterday (only took me 10 weeks!) but they are D.O.N.E.

East Bay Clothiers: Sneak Peek
Here's a sneak peek of the new East Bay Clothiers site I'm working on. More to come soon, but we're so excited about this new, fresh design. Here's a glimpse of the slideshow images that will play on the new homepage.
And yes, that is my close friend and fashionista Louise McCown below to the left. Lookin' good Lou!
Here's some new copy for the "Beginnings" page. This is so Genie...
Remember 1994? Yes! EastBay Clothiers remembers too! That was our birth year. Genie McCown , fresh from London via New York, via Mobile (think Azalea bush) opened the doors where everybody knows your name....(think Cheers). Whatever your whim, be it in the boardroom or boardwalk. Rest assured, there will always be a happy individual to make you look and feel your best (think "Man of Distinction..." or "I am Women Hear Me Roar...." ) Located in beautiful downtown Fairhope, come as you are. Have a cookie.
All photos were taken by Donald Holyfield. He's SO talented and has given me a ridiculous amount of amazing photos to choose from. More to come soon...

spring fever
It's been a while since I've posted anything home or design-related — let's just say I've been in babyland. BUT, that doesn't mean the design wheels haven't been turning constantly in my head! I stumbled upon this beautiful beach house, designed by Munger Interiors, and wanted to PIN every picture immediately onto my pinterest board.
Such a cute guest room...and who would have thought three twin beds would fit in that small space?
It's rainy again here in Mobile, and we could definitely use a weekend away at the beach. This home is completely lovely and fresh looking...just in time for some spring inspiration!
