What I've been working on lately...

The idea of blogging about what I'm working on overwhelms me because I don't know where to start. I currently have 5+ projects going on (some web, some identity branding and some print), with 5+ different clients. But like I've shared before, my largest client is Roberts Brothers, and I'm honored to be the Marketing Director of this fabulous real estate company based in Mobile, Alabama.

We recently finished a Recruiting Guide that I'm very proud of. The client needed a new career development piece, and after we met and discussed the project, we decided to tell the company's story from the agents, staff, and managers perspective. We realized that these testimonies speak much louder than impressive market share reports and high web statistics. Their words are heart-felt—reflecting what it means to be a part of the Roberts Brothers family.

Check out the interactive guide on the Roberts Brothers' website! We had the guide professionally printed, created a digital version for the web, and we've hired a professional team to film the agents and create a video version of this as well. I'll share that with you when it's completed.

Thanks to the RBI team who helped make this piece come to life! We couldn't have done it without your help.

Letterpress Christmas Cards

Christmas cards have been on my mind lately as I stuff envelopes and update my address list, so here's a collection I made of some of my favorite holiday letterpress cards. As you know, I'm a sucker for all-things letterpress. There’s simply nothing that compares to the handmade quality of letterpress; something about it just makes me want to melt.

 Enjoy!

Do more of what makes you happy

Ok. I just fell in love with this room. It doesn't hurt that I adore ping-pong and I'm pretty good at it if I say so myself. :) You see, ping-pong actually runs in the family. My mom designed a "ping-pong room" in our house and recently changed it to a kids playroom. Mom put lots of antique racquets on the wall (how I wish I had a picture now!), but I do love the way Urban Grace put these monochromatic ping pong paddles on the wall. See what Urban Grace had to say about it...

The second level of the Ultimate Beach House has two large areas for more entertaining… a Game Room and a Theater.  The Game Room (seen below) was deep enough for a large seating area and a ping pong table.  We tucked Lee Industries drum stools beneath the ping pong table so the table could be used for other games, or even as a secondary dining area for kids.

The ping pong table was a custom design I whipped up in a total state of madness at the last minute, and I think it turned out alright, all things considered.  The seating area at the end of the Game Room has two large Lee Industries slipcovered sofas, a leather ottoman, and a wall of watercolor prints that surround the television.  The paintings on the left are by Michelle Armas, who I had the pleasure of meeting in person when Leigh Ann and I were in Atlanta a few months ago.

It’s hard to mix art in a large open space, but after finalizing the exact location of the ping pong table I had this idea to hang wooden handled sandpaper paddles on the wall.  It was a graphic detail that didn’t introduce any more color, but just made sense and added interest.  I drilled the holes in the paddles myself, thanks to Billy the trim carpenter for letting me borrow his drill, and lined them up easily thanks to the walls being paneled horizontally.  I painted the ping pong table in Pratt & Lambert’s Seed Pearl & April Mist, and the bases are Golden Green.

Someday, I want to do this to our living room. How much fun would that be?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Whew, what a week it's been and it's only Tuesday.

But with much exhaustion is MUCH excitement—it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas this week with JLM's Christmas Jubilee Event! I'm the VIP Shopping Event Chair this year (see last year's CJ post here). We've been working all year on this event, and it's finally here...thank the Lord! :)

Here's a sneak peek of the merchants moving in tonight. It's amazing to see this place transform so quickly. Oh, and I'm so excited about these two new merchants this year: Caroline Reehl Ceramics and Carter & Company!

Click here to find out more info or to buy tickets OR view the digital Folio with all details. More CJ pics coming soon.

Merry Merry!

Calder at 10 months

I can't believe how fast the days go by! It seems like yesterday I was writing about 9 months. Calder's constantly changing and getting bigger and bigger. I now know what my mom meant when she said she wanted "to put a brick on my head." She will always be my little baby.

Here are some highlights from the past month.

She loved playing with sweet Tatum Foose (who is going to be a big sis any day now!:)

Calder had a fun weekend with SuSu and Granddaddy in Chattanooga!
Don't mess with my pumkins!
We had many fun Halloween parties! I think she wore her flower costume for 5 days in a row!

She was such a sweet flower

Who knew tupperware could be so fun?!?
 We love bath time

and we had a blast playing with Lelia in the tub!

She still loves to clap, clap clap and blow bubbles—and she talks/babbles all the time. Favorite words are dadadadada, mama and bye-bye (more like baba)! She's into everything these days and she loves books and turning the pages!

She now has 3 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom
Look at my little design buddy helping mama pick out Pantone colors!
 Not always loving photo shoots...
 but ALWAYS loving meal time!
And as of this weekend, she's pulling up on everything and standing! Look at her here—so proud of herself! That's it for now, can't believe her FIRST birthday is right around the corner!

Behind the Paint

I recently gave Sarah Otts' new blog, Behind the Paint, a makeover. Please check it out and "follow" her creative journal!  Her work is BEAUTIFUL. Last night she had a preview party for her exhibit at Lyons Share Gallery in Fairhope—and don't worry, it will be on display all month so stop in anytime. First Friday is tonight, November 2nd and the Lighting of the trees will be on the 15th.

You can also check out her website (designed by yours truly). Isn't she amazing?
And her work will be in a gallery in NYC this month too so stay tuned. She will have LOTS to share!
And finally here's a pic of our two girls on Halloween night. We are so blessed to have two little girls only three months apart! Love you Sarah and so, so proud of you!!
