My Website: Programming Patience

Lots of back and forth with my programmers around here. We're finalizing my new website—and crossing my fingers we will launch very soon, hopefully 2-3 weeks max.

So much hard work, sweat and tears have gone into this site. I honestly don't think I've ever worked so hard on any design project in my entire life. This site redesign started Spring 2013, so considering it's now FALL 2013, I am ready to have this baby behind me and in front of you!

New Branding and Website: Caroline Ceramics

The new Caroline Ceramics website is live! This was a true labor of love, and we so worked hard to make sure this site was everything it needed it be, including a shop and a blog. I can't tell you how much I love this girl, and it thrills me to see her beautiful work come alive on the site. The site design and branding is so Caroline, and that's what matters most in the end.

We can't wait to celebrate this beautiful artist's wedding in the Highlands in September!

Check it out. Caroline is the complete package. Her work is so original and beautiful, just like her sweet little self!

East Bay Clothiers Website Launch!

We just launched the new East Bay Clothiers site! We've been working on this site for what seems like forever, so I keep pinching myself when I realize it's actually L.I.V.E. {See in progress "Sneak Peek" post here.}

And here's a big smile to brighten your day. Calder keeps getting sweeter and sweeter, and bigger and bigger. Happy Thursday everyone. Hope you do something extra fun this weekend! We're headed to New Orleans on Saturday morning and coming back Sunday. It'll be our first trip just the two of us and Calder will be with the juju and mack-daddy! I'm sure I'll take lots of pics and have some fun things to share next week...

East Bay Clothiers: Sneak Peek

Here's some new copy for the "Beginnings" page. This is so Genie...
Remember 1994? Yes!  EastBay Clothiers remembers too! That was our birth year. Genie McCown , fresh from London via New York, via Mobile (think Azalea bush) opened the doors where everybody knows your name....(think Cheers). Whatever your whim, be it in the boardroom or boardwalk. Rest assured, there will always be a happy individual to make you look and feel your best (think "Man of Distinction..." or "I am Women Hear Me Roar...." )  Located in beautiful downtown Fairhope, come as you are. Have a cookie. (more like a beer!) Hug the dogs.....and leave feeling like a million bucks!

I've never thought of myself as a Mobilian. Actually, I've always seen myself as a "transplant" to this town, but when I read this article in the new Garden & Gun, I was so excited about our Mobile Bay feature story, and for the first time, I actually felt like a Mobilian...if that makes any sense at all.

The article made me feel proud of our town, and it was as if they were referring to my home. This is a big step for me, since I've always thought of Chattanooga as my real home. Although the 'noog will always hold a extra special place in heart, Mobile Bay is my home now, and I love it. What a great article — so well written and witty. Winston Groom, the author of Forest Gump and a Mobile native, wrote this story, and I think he did a fantastic job. He ends every paragraph with "So, there!" Make sure and read the entire article...and I promise you'll be saying "So there!" with Winston....

A great picture of my favorite people's dads! Rebekah Phillips Webb is a fellow graphic designer, and I have loved getting to know her over the past few years. Her father, pictured below, is Charles Phillips, who owns an amazing antique store just outside of Mobile, called you guessed it...Charles Phillips Antiques. I could walk around there for hours. If you've never been, you must see this place! Definitely worth the drive!!

Well, I could talk to Rebekah for hours about fonts, Mac software, whether to get adobe cs4 or cs5 and what plugin to download....you know, we speak the same dorky design language! But I could also talk to her about anything going on in my life...she's one of those people you immediately feel comfortable around. Check out Rebekah's website...she is so talented!

And finally, I can't mention the Garden & Gun article and not give a shoot out to East Bay Clothiers. They were one of the "featured shops" in the G&G article, which doesn't surprise me at all! I'm in the process of redesigning their website, and am very excited about the creative approach we are taking. Stay tuned to see the progress! Genie McCown is fabuous — she is larger than life and such a joy to work with. I am honored to redesign their website. So...if you're in Fairhope, you must stop by EBC and check out their fabulous clothes. Genie has great taste, and the clothes they carry are top of the line!

WOW.  Isn't this the coolest wedding website ever?!

Stitch Design Co. in Charleston, South Carolina, designed this fabulous wedding website for their sister company, Sideshow Press. Sideshow is working with the bride and groom-to-be on custom letterpress event materials. The couple was interested in a website so Stitch stepped in to design the couple a site that would perfectly match their save the date. (see below)

Here's what Sideshow said about the couple's save the date...

"A save the date for a upcoming wedding to be held at a private South Carolina plantation this Spring. The bride came to us a with the request for an invite that would feel eclectic, beautiful, and sustainable. A few of the sustainable elements include, envelope liners from an Audubon book (purchased from a local book re-seller) and collected quail feathers from the family plantation. The type is handwritten then scanned in and foil stamped in gold. The less formal handwritten type, combined with the gold foil printing and Italian papers gives this set a beautiful and approachable aesthetic."

 

 I love the idea of using Audubon books for envelope liners! So unique and beautiful!
