Letterpress Christmas Cards

Christmas cards have been on my mind lately as I stuff envelopes and update my address list, so here's a collection I made of some of my favorite holiday letterpress cards. As you know, I'm a sucker for all-things letterpress. There’s simply nothing that compares to the handmade quality of letterpress; something about it just makes me want to melt.

 Enjoy!

National Stationery Show

Did I mention that I love stationery? Given it is what I do, I could look at these pictures for hours! Since the 2011 National Stationery Show is coming up in just a few days, I thought I'd feature some of my favorite booths and designs from last year's show. I found all of these images on my favorite stationery blog, Oh So Beautiful Paper...
Night Owl Paper Goods had a beautiful booth full of their signature wood veneer stationery and letterpress cards, as well as new notebooks and a sneak peek at their 2011 calendars.

Avie Designs pulled together a wonderful collection of cards, invitations, and gift wrap..

Above is the Sycamore Street Press booth, Eva and Kirk used charcoal gray fabric backdrops and a sweet paper garland to highlight their new letterpress cards, prints, and 2011 poster-style calendar.
Check their Oh So Beautiful Paper for many more photos and details...

Bringing the Art to the Cart

A good friend emailed me this incredible DIY blog yesterday, Centsational Girl, and I was hooked. I love DIY projects and have refinished and painted a lot of the furniture in our house, so of course, I fell in love with her ideas and her before and after pics. I love bargains and making something ugly beautiful again, so if you're like me, you must check this blog out.

On Centsational Girl I saw a link to Big Cartel – the simple shopping cart for artists. Don't I feel out-of-the-loop! I didn't know there was another ETSY-type of online site.
I could spend HOURS on this site, browsing through paper goods and other handmade items, but I need to get back to work. Maybe someday I can start my own line of papergoods for sale on sites like this...hmmm....really must get to work now. Thought I'd share this with you in case you wanted to waste enjoy some online retail therapy this morning.

So, here are a few of my favorite paper good finds on Big Cartel...
enclosure cards from Tutta Lou Press
2-Day Hooray Days of the week collection by ormolu
save the date by magpie works
Cute cards from Satsuma Press. Always love their work — so simple and clean.
clever letterpress card from old tom foolery

So, what's on your wish list?

Springtime!

It's springtime, which makes me want to get outside and get my hands dirty...so yesterday I decided to plant some annuals in front of our house. Even though this wasn't a huge space and not a lot of yard work (like raking leaves!), I am sore today. Sad, huh? The weather was beautiful and sunny, and I have a horrible racerback back sunburn to show for it!

Havin fun yet Bruner?

Love these Tag Team Thompkins’ letterpress prints - check them out on etsy. I'm hoping this spanish proverb is true for us as well :)
So...Speaking of springtime, I am into bright colors right now. Not sure why (since I usually gravitate toward neutrals and more soothing tones)... maybe it's the weather and the season, but here are some images to brighten up your Monday!

How fun is this little girls room?? I'm stashing this one away in case I need to use it!

cutest baby shower invitation EVER

Baby shower invitations are on my mind...not because I'm pregnant (sorry mom!), but because I'm in the process of designing several ones for friends. When I saw this invitation designed by Dinara - I just about melted! She designed these hand lettered invitations for her upcoming baby shower!  Dinara is expecting a baby girl in May, so when it came time for baby shower invitations it was only fitting that Dinara apply her illustration and hand lettering skills to the design.

Dinara worked with Laurie from Lucky Bee Press, who provided 2-color letterpress printing in pink and yellow.  Aren’t they adorable?

So sweet!  Thanks Dinara and Oh So Beautiful Paper for this discovery!
