Balanced Beauty

I absolutely love interior designer Barbara Westbrook's charming cottage office featured in this months Atlanta Homes. It's so clean and refreshing. Wouldn't you love to work in this beautiful space? Here's what Atlanta Homes had to say about it:

The designer’s signature style is evident throughout the five-room office, from the contrast between its low, bright-white ceilings and stained wood floors and door frames to the commanding presence of oversize antiques, such as the Belgian secretary in the cozy entry hall. The heart of the home, though, is an open, collaborative work space with sleek white laminate surfaces running the length of the house, which allows Westbrook’s team of four to constantly interact.

This will probably be my last post for a while before meeting our precious baby. Words cannot describe how excited we are to start this new journey as a family! I will definitely keep you posted on everything...

Lots of love,

Southern Sanctuary

In this months Atlanta Homes magazine, Designer Jimmy Stanton imbues a country residence with style and soul, creating a retreat that’s equally stimulating and restorative. I love the natural materials and neutral colors in this showhouse, and found myself tearing out the pages of the magazine for future inspiration. Thanks to Pinterest, I no longer have to do that, but I'm having a hard time parting with my binders!
I LOVE this kitchen! Here's what Atlanta Homes had to say about it:

The kitchen is undeniably chic but far from pretentious, created with a hint of Shaker influence in collaboration with Bell Custom Cabinetry. Awash in a light khaki gray, the room’s open shelves provide display space for diverse collections of pottery, glassware and Ball mason jars. Industrial pendant lights, aluminum stools and framed botanicals keep the look relaxed while a slate gray countertop—actually Cambria quartz—adds a little gleam. Jenn-Air appliances available through Guy T. Gunter & Associates.
And finally, isn't this a cute idea for a playroom? The antique European factory illustrations are affixed to the wall with bronze clip hooks. What a great idea!
Happy Monday. Hope this was some good eye-candy for you today...

My Favorite Baby Nurseries

Of course, baby nurseries have been on my mind recently, so I thought I'd share my favorite ones. Since we aren't finding out the sex, our nursery will have a neutral color palette, with lots of white, cream and soft hues of green and blue. We're in the beginning stages of decorating the nursery (we just put together the crib this weekend!), but I look at these images everyday and can't decide which one is my favorite...

Bathed in Blue

I love this home featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and photographed by Mali Azima. I was amazed that it was designed entirely by the homeowner, Elizabeth Elsey, a nurse for over 20 years. Not surprisingly, however, is that she is inspired by all the colors of the beach...especially all spectrums of blue, from the water to the sky. Her style is dressier than mine, but I do love the colors and every room is gorgeous! (Here are some helpful resources...Dining Room Walls: Farrow & Ball Oval Room Blue over Farrow & Ball Light Blue in custom striƩ finish. Trim: Benjamin Moore Bavarian Cream.) Read all about the home and see more beautiful images over here!

Happy Thursday everyone. The weekend is almost here!!
